Chris Arias

Architectural and interior design can’t be created in a vacuum. Arias Design and Build Services first starts by standing on the shoulders of all the designers, builders and creative thinkers that have come before us. Add to that the contributions of clients and colleagues, and a project is driven forward to a strong functional and creative design end.

Chris Arias’s approach to architecture began with a background in fine arts. His BFA in painting, printmaking, and sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University gave him a creative eye for composition, line, and texture. His MFA in interior design gives him the necessary tools to develop a project with a clear vision for  aesthetics as well as satisfying the programmatic needs of a structure and an interior environment.

Fifteen years in the film business working with national and international production companies on over 30 feature film and television productions sharpened Chris's design and project management skills. The intense, fast paced environment of the film world enabled him to develop a strong problem-solving foundation and the ability to meet high-pressure deadlines in a creative environment. 

As the owner, for the last eight years, of a design-build business, Chris has concrete, working knowledge of the building process and an understanding of what can be accomplished within a firm budget. His commitment to well-designed, well-made projects makes environmentally friendly technology work seamlessly with his long-standing building and business model.

Detailed project management combined with a respect for the environment, design, and client/contractor relationship is what ensures the success of Arias Design and Build Services' projects.
