Chris' approach to design began with a background in fine arts. His BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in painting and sculpture gives him a creative eye for composition, line, and texture. His MFA in interior design gives him the necessary tools to develop a project with a clear vision for aesthetics as well as satisfying the programmatic needs of an interior environment.
Along with his formal education, Chris learned the most about the building industry in the field. With over fifteen years experience as a general contractor and craftsman, Chris has hands-on experience with city officials, contractors, and fabricators.
As the owner of a design+build business since 2001, Chris has concrete, working knowledge of the building process and an understanding of what can be accomplished within a firm budget. He employs the latest digital technology (BIM) and sustainable building techniques to well-designed, well-crafted projects which form the foundation of his long-standing commitment to quality of the built environment.
Detailed project management combined with a respect for the environment, design, and client/contractor relationship is what ensures the success of AD+B's projects.
